Tag #40 : Brooklyn Nine-Nine Book Tag

Hello friends !

If you didn’t know, I am Brooklyn Nine-Nine trash. Like really, that show is my biggest stress relief and I love it to pieces. So it was only normal I would jump on the opportunity to do a tag about it when I found out my friend Em (they do not have a blog anymore) was doing one. Okay but my love for it being professed, it still has its problem, mainly ableism, fatmisia and acemisia so be aware of those things if you decide to watch it. I don’t want anyone getting hurt by its content. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into the tag.

The Rules:

  • Link to the creator (so, Em)
  • Tag 2-5 people (or not… not a big deal.)
  • You can use the graphics in Em’s post (or not) but please credit.
  • Answer the prompts, have fun, and spread the B99 joy!

The Prompts:

b99 1

F. C. Yee - The Epic Crush of Genie Lo

Quentin from The Epic Crush of Genie Lo. He is… a lot to handle at first. All over the place, all up in Genie’s personal space (which she doesn’t take well at all) and just very smackable but then as we get to know him he’s just a goofball who has no clue about how to act in modern society and that was hilarious to read.

b99 2

Hillary Monahan - The Hollow Girl

Drina the Grandma from The Hollow Girl. That woman is brilliant but she puts on such a hard facade that’s incredibly hard to crack but once we got to see through it, I adored her and everything she stood for and did for Bethan.

b99 3

Chelsea M. Cameron -#2 Double Exposure

Anna from Double Exposure. She had three jobs and is a kickass at all of them. She has her life scheduled, doesn’t take breaks and I’m sure she has a stationnary drawer hidden somewhere because WHY NOT? Tbh, I love stationnary too (and I’m a Type A too if you hadn’t noticed) so I approve of aaaall of this.

b99 4

Leigh Bardugo - Six of Crows #1

Come on. This is an obvious one isn’t it. IT’S KAZ BREKKER IN TV SHOW FORM !!! Like, that’s literally the best way to describe Kaz. He’s cocky, scares the crap out of everyone who crosses his path and is an evil mastermind. BUT I CAN’T HELP LOVING HIM !!

b99 5

Jen Wilde - Queens of Geek

Taylor from Queens of Geek. She’s such a precious anxious cinnamon roll and I love her to pieces. She’s always there for her best friend, Charlie, (and it’s reciprocated) and would do anything for her to be happy. Her character just makes me feel soft and warm and fuzzy. She gives me BIG Charles vibes.

b99 6

Stacey Lee - Under a painted Sky

Andy from Under a Painted Sky. Her motherly instincts are so strong, she just takes care of everyone, to a fault sometimes. Forgetting to take care of herself too. Which in her circumstances in the book can be pretty Dangerous if you think about it.

b99 7

A Darker Shade final for Irene

Lila from A Darker Shades of Magic, duh! She’s such a Rosa, and coincidentally, both of them are some of my favourite characters of all times. I just like, snarky, emotionally constipated leads that have the most rare but radiant smiles.

b99 8

Leigh Bardugo - Six of Crows #1

If this doesn’t scream Nina Zenik, I don’t know what is. For one, SHE LOVES FOOD MORE THAN ANYONE AND ANYTHING (exception made of Inej. Maybe) AND she’s a heartrender, so, I mean??? It’s a match made in Heaven, amirite? I adore her character and how fun and lighthearted she is.

b99 9

S. K. Ali - Saints and Misfits

Sarah from Saints & Misfits. She’s not the main character but her brother’s fiancée and from Janna’s perspective she seems like a suck-up who’d rat out at any opportunity. BUT. Once we get to know we realize that she isn’t like that at all but she’s actually a really awesome person who’d make a great friend.

I tag:

Anyone who loves this show to be honest. Because I don’t really know who watches it so I’m not sure who to tag.

That’s it until next time.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

I usually really dislike American shows (whoops) but Brooklyn 99 is the exception. (Thank you for the content warnings though because it unfortunately isn’t without its problems) BUT I LOVED EVERYONE YOU PICKED, ESPECIALLY TAYLOR AS CHARLES. I love Charles and need someone like him in my life (am… *I* the Charles in other people’s lives??).

I also love the description y’all put for the characters. Ugh, they are all so amazing. This will definitely be the next tag I’m doing, loooll.

  2. I love this tag!! What an amazing show as well.
Kaz and Gina is also amazing, she is easily one of my favourite characters in the show (Terry is my ultimate fave!) 😀

  3. Oh wow I LOVE Brooklyn Nine-Nine so I may definitely have to take part in this tag (considering you tagged everyone who loves the show why not?)
Before reading your post I would have never connected Kaz Brekker and Gina Linetti, but when I saw the description for Gina’s prompt yes Kaz was the first character that came to mind (same with Nina when I saw the description for Norm’s prompt).
Great answers for this tag, and great post as well! 😀 ❤

  4. I AM SCREAMING AT THE MENTION OF KAZ BREKKER!!!!! AND NINA, OF COURSE. It’s been so long since I read Six of Crows and I still haven’t gotten around to reading Crooked Kingdom yet, despite having loved the first book and all the characters so much! THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME THAT I’M A BAD READER. T_T

  5. I feel a little bit offended that you didn’t immediately tag me for this 😅 you could have so easily said “anyone who watches the show (and Kat, because I KNOW she watches and loves and adores and obsesses over B99)”.
You chose some great answers though! Nina and food obviously goes hand in hand. And I really enjoyed finding out more about Sarah in Saints & Misfits, she really is a great friend once you got to know her.
