Hello friends!
As I was thinking lately about some kind of fun post to do on the blog, my very not brilliant brain came to up with this very not creative idea WHICH IS, drum roll please, book recommendations based on the twelve zodiac signs. Now, as I’ve gotten a bit more into astrology the past few months, I know that there’s a bit more depth to all of this and the signs, their traits and their influence are more complex than just your sun sign (the one based on your day of birth, that basically everyone knows) but for the sake of keeping this post light and simple I’m going to base these recommendations on the signs’ most known attributes.
The descriptions I used are 100% mine inspired from both what is known about the signs and the people around me that I know fall under them so…eh…take them with a grain of salt. They might not fit *you* personally because, like I said, there’s more to a person than their sun sign, it’s a whole ass chart. Don’t take the books with a grain of salt though, you should definitely read those. So without further ago, here goes nothing:
Title = Goodreads page
Aries
Born natural leaders, Aries are ambitious, courageous and have a great sense of adventure. They’re hard workers, very determined but also quite impulsive. They’re also outgoing and the life of every party.
- The disasters by M. K. England – This book is very fast paced and has characters who are very brave but can be huge dumbasses and go into danger head first.
- The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi – Another case of character diving head first into danger, but all of them are extremely ambitious in what they want.
- Girls made of Paper and Fire – I’m not gonna say anything about this one because it would be a spoiler but hmmm. Read it pls.
Taurus
Taurus are extremely strong but also extremely gentle. They’re resilient, passionate and follow their vision up til the very end which means that it’s hard for them to follow instructions when they don’t align with it. They are very detail oriented and know how to take care of their loved ones and make them feel loved.
- If you Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson – For some reason, I feel like this book and Taurus have the same energy, I’m all for the gentle and quiet strength.
- Foolish hearts by Emma Mills – This is just a cutesy book and whenever I think cutesy I think Taurus for some reason. I also put this book here because of how friendship oriented it is.
- The Reader by Traci Chee – If you read this book, you’ll understand why this is such a perfect match. There’s also a huge found family aspect in the second book that makes this match even better.
Gemini
Gemini are very adaptable individuals, capable of fitting in and connecting with others easily. They’re energetic, opinionated and unafraid to speak their mind, even when it might be the unpopular opinion.
- We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia – This book is all about taking down the patriarchy and the corrupt government and this match just makes complete sense to me.
- When Michael Met Mina by Randa Abdel-Fattah – The main character fits the second part of that description perfectly. I have a feeling she’d fit the first too if her circumstances were any different.
- When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon – This is just all around an upbeat book and Dimple is very opinionated so.
Cancer
Cancers are very atune to other people’s emotions, so much so that they can get affected by them but they also have a hard time expressing their *own* feelings. They’re very caring and loyal people so once you have them and know how to keep them, they’re for life. (This has to be my favourite sign)
- The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum – I feel like this book fits Cancers perfectly. The main character cares deeply about everyone’s feelings and makes it her mission to help them through them. The cast would also die for each other.
- Darius the Great is not Okay by Adib Khorram – This book is just very introspective and feelings-oriented which makes for the best Cancer read if you ask me.
- The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – Who can give me a HELL YEAH? Because honestly this book is one giant Cancer mood.
Leo
As very upbeat and on the go people, Leos tend to be the center of attention, and more often than not, they like it. They’re bold and confident and never hesitate to speak out but they’re also gentle and can be quite soothing.
- Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody – Does anyone else feel the Leo energy or is it just me? It’s mostly due to Levi, if we’re being honest.
- The Brightsiders by Jen Wilde – This book centers the lead singer of a band which is the most attention grabbing thing in the universe.
- Want by Cindy Pon – This book feels a lot like what a Leo would be if they were a book. Loud, proud and standing up against injustice.
Virgo
Virgos are the most organized, hardworking people you’ll ever meet. They’re also kind, generous and have a great sense of humour. They love learning new things and kinda hate when they *don’t* know things. Letting go is also not an easy feat for them to achieve.
- You Asked for Perfect by Laura Silverman – If this isn’t the most virgo book I’ve ever read, I don’t know what is.
- Untouchable by Talia Hibbert – Hannah, the heroine in this one is the virgo of all virgos, she likes everything to be organized how she likes it and HATES losing control over things.
- The Epic Crush of Genie Lo – Genie Lo is the biggest virgo to ever grace this earth and no one can change my mind. She’s hustles hard, has a no bullshit tolerance policy and does not take well to things she doesn’t understand.
Libra
Libras are great at communication and like to make and keep people happy which can sometimes easily lead to them neglecting their own happiness for a bit. They’re also creative and their imagination knows no bound.
- We are Okay by Nina Lacour – And… I don’t exactly know why? It just feels a lot like a book that a Libra would click with.
- Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova – This book begins as the main characters tries to reclaim her future and stop doing things to please others, which is against what Libras are but still.
- When the Moon was Ours by Anna-Marie Mclemore – This is one of the most imaginative books I’ve ever read and that’s all I’ll say about that.
Scorpio
Scorpios stand out, they’re intense, passionate and extremely charismatic. They’re very smart and funny, their humour often of the sarcastic genre. They’re also cynical and tend to build a shell that’s hard to crack around themselves, which makes them seem cold when in reality, they care a lot.
- Descendant of the Crane by Joan He – This book draws you in like a Scorpio would, it has intensity and passion and it’s so very well crafted. I’m shook.
- Sadie by Courtney Summers – This description fits Sadie (the MC) almost down to a T and I’m proud of myself for making the connection.
- Nice Try, Jane Sinner – I think it’s the sarcasm that does it for this one.
Sagittarius
Very adept of trying and seeing new things, Sagittarius love to travel, discover new places and get out of their comfort zone, which fuels their creative juices. They’re also very honest folks, sometimes…too honest. They can be blunt and come across as selfish and insensitive.
- The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty – Because for one, there’s a lot of travelling happening in this one and also because of characters. Just read the book.
- The Hollow Girl by Hillary Monahan – This is the type of book that’ll get you so far out of your comfort zone with its harsh truths, it’ll leave you shifting uncomfortably in your sit, unable to sit still.
- A Duke by Default by Alyssa Cole – I feel like this book will speak to every Sagittarius’ soul. Just try it and you’ll see.
Capricorn
Very dependable and practical, Capricorns tend to follow logic and don’t get swayed by emotions easily. Which… isn’t always a good thing, because it’s sometimes good to follow your heart (I…have first hand experience). They’re also very confident -can come off as arrogant, put together and masters at hiding their feelings, which they have a lot of.
- Immoral Code by Lillian Clark – This is a very nerdy book and the Capricorn description just reminds me of one of the main characters who’s very strong and sometimes overtly confident.
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – OKAY BUT THIS IS PERFECT??? No wonder it’s my favourite book, wow.
- Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole – Likotsi strikes me as a Capricorn. Jer confidence, logic and organisation skills make her one of ours and no one can change my mind.
Aquarius
These are either one of two ends of the spectrum: Shy and quiet or loud and very out there, either way, it’s a way for them to avoid expressing their feelings. Aquarians are very independent, compassionate and make for great listeners.
- Blood, Water, Paint by Joy McCullough – Through the book, the main character of goes from one end of the spectrum to the other and want revenge no matter what if means for her. We stan.
- The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X. R. Pan – This one falls more on the shy and quiet side of things but everything else fits.
- Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde – One of the MCs in this is quiet and kind of shy and the other is confident and a social media influencer. Both fit all the other traits.
Pisces
Pisces are very gentle and understanding people, they don’t like conflict and do their best to avoid it. They’re very giving and willing to lend support to whoever needs it. That being said, they can be quiet naive and get taken advantage of if they’re not careful with who they trust.
- Small Town Hearts by Lillie Vale – This book has that very gentle and soothing vibe Pisces tend to have as well, and since this MC is somewhat of a pushover in the beginning, it’s kinda perfect.
- Blanca y Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore – The book as a whole feels very gentle but this description reminds me a lot of Page, the genderqueer boy who has the softest soul ever.
- Everything Leads to You by Nina Lacour – This book’s whole aesthetic is Pisces. I would be shocked if the MC isn’t one.
That’s it until next time.
Do you think these books fit?
Recommend me books based on any of the signs!
Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.
Aries here – have only read TGW – might not fit quite so well with me personally but like you said, it’s a whole-ass chart – still a goooooooood book though. Other two are on the TBR, though. Soooooooooon.
That being said, always excited to add new books to the TBR. (I’ll finish it eventually.)
Thank you for posting and for the recs!

I actually haven’t read any of the books you chose for my sign (Cancer)! They do all sound very emotion-oriented like you said.

Omg YES for You Asked for Perfect & Genie Lo as Virgos, they totally fit the description up there??? Also your placement of Nice Try, Jane Sinner as a scorpio book is the most accurate thing I’ve /ever/ read. There’s no way Jane Sinner isn’t a Scorpio.

Hehehe right!!! Virgo was honestly the easiest to put together. And right! She can’t not be a Scorpio

I love this list but also I saw you had Descendant Of The Crane under Scorpio and YES PLEASE THIS SCORPIO APPROVES WHOLEHEARTEDLY. It also explains A LOT about why I loved it so much. Lol.

I am a Libra, but I was lowkey taking the Capricorn recommendations too. I don’t identify with Libra that much, though I am excited to pick up all the books you mentioned, especially When The Moon Was Ours. I think I’m more of a Capricorn deep down (conspiracy theory: i’m actually a capricorn but my parents adopted me as an infant and decided a new birthday for me), and I love you mentioned Immoral Code, because I was literally just googling this book today (or should I say goodreads-ing it?)!
I appreciate your recommendations a lot, especially because I feel like this was a very length-y post to prepare & write!

You might want to check out your whole chart if you want to really relate hahaha, i did mine and i am shook. I’m a capricorn but don’t relate with everything my sign is about!
When the moon was Ours is an all time fave of mine 😍
It took forever to put together but i loved doing it and seeing everyone like it as well makes it worth it too!

Totally! I checked my chart and I found out my Moon is in Capricorn so that’s probably why I identify a lot with it? Astrology is confusing, so I don’t know, hahah.

I’m an Aries and I often don’t relate to any tweets, posts or anything about Aries at all. Yet, here, I read both Girls of Paper and Fire and The Gilded Wolves, and they’re both 5-star reads for me! I loved them so much ♥ They’re such good recommendations and this is a great post!

Ooh I love this! I love astrology (Gemini rising, Taurus sun, Virgo moon) and have put all the books under those signs on a tbr! I don’t have any book recommendations unfortunately, however, any time I read a book, I’m always trying to figure out what everyone’s signs are, haha. Thanks for the recs!
