WHO’S EXCITED FOR THIS? BECAUSE I AM!
I actually debated for a couple weeks whether to nominate people or not, and if so whether to do it anonymously or on the blog. But honestly this is just yet another excuse for me to shout about my faves and tell you all just how much I loved them and their content so YES! THIS IS HAPPENING! I’m nominating folks for the 2019 Third Annual Book Blogger Awards which are honested this year by May @ Forever and Everly.
I really liked this award last year especially since *cough* I won a category *cough* but I love it even more now with the changes May brought to it to make it as inclusive as possible without accidentally marginalizing minorties even farther (a story for another day). ANYWAY, enough rambling, let’s get nominating. I just want to preface by saying that I won’t be nominating for ever category because some of them I just don’t have people for, that…is a sign that I should probably follow more blogs (I’m going to stalk other nomination posts for that).
Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
- Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads
Have you MET Vicky? She is a blogging superhero, has super creative AND helpful posts, pushes for diversity, spotlights authors and is just all around an amazing human. Her blog is so well rounded, you can find a bit of everything on it and you’re sure to never be bored of her content.
- May @ Forever and Everly
Our one and only award host!! I love them, their content, their snark and humour SO much I couldn’t not include them here. Plus I feel like just the fact that they’re taking it upon themself to host such a massive event as these blog awards is enough for them to win ALL the awards.
Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
- Melanie @ Mel to the Any
My love for Melanie knows no bounds. She does so much work, blogging, bookstagramming, youtubing, hosting a book club and I’m in awe of her hard work and dedication. She also reads quite the variety of books and I trust her recommendations so I always know where to go when I’m in need of some.
- Jen @ Pop! Goes the Reader
Have you seen Jen’s monthly releases posts? because I have and they always have me shook at the amount of time they must take to put together and they’re also so aesthetically pleasing. She also works with authors and spotlights their work, thoughts and opinions with a series like the one that she has going on right now Her story: Ladies in Literature, where she has female authors come and talk about different topics that matter to them.
- Melanie @ Mel to the Any
LISTEN! I *know* I already nominated Melanie but I couldn’t NOT nominate her here as well. I know she technically blogs about everything not just romance but romance is a big part of it. And whenever she likes a romance book, it gets automatically added to my TBR. Also, the first book we buddy-read was romance so *shrugs*. (how many times can I say romance?)
- Lili @ Utopia State of Mind
Who else could I possibly nominate for this? Have you seen all the amazing SFF books Lili reviews on her blog? Have you seen how many she READS? To be honest, she’s my go-to whenever I’m looking for specific SFF recs and I trust her opinions a lot.
Best Book Reviews
- Chaima @ Runaway with Dream Thieves
I think that I love 70% of Chaima’s book reviews more than I love the actual books. She’s so thorough and meticulous in the way she reviews, but she also has a magical way with words and her reviews always end up being a perfect mix of poetic (yes! poetic!) and funny, which is everything I’ve ever wanted.
Best Book Recommendations
- Rachel @ Rec-it Rachel
Rachel is a recommendations wizard. She can recommend you books based on almost ANYTHING and you’re almost guaranteed you’re going to love them. She has so many creatively currated recommendations list on her blog, but she also extends that to twitter and often does recommendations threads. Amazing, I tell you!
Best Discussion Posts
- Shri @ Sun and Chai
The first time I’ve actually read a discussion post written by the ever so amazing Shri was actually when she wrote one for my #DiverseBookBloggersDiscuss feature and I was so impressed and amazed at how eloquent she is and how thorough and detailed the post was, and every other one I read after that lived up to those expectations priorly set. She just hit the nail on the head with every issue and topic she tackles.
Best Blog Aesthetic
- CW @ The Quiet Pond (with Joce & Stella)
If you didn’t see this one coming or somehow don’t know of The Quiet Pond, are you okay? How are you surviving without the sheer joy The pond and all its inhabitants bring into the world? I am always amazed and impressed by the amount of care, time and work CW puts into the blog’s look. Also the little stories in each post? THE PONDSONAS? *cries* This is my go-to when I need some cheering up because the blog is a little bubble of softness and happiness.
- Aimal @ Bookshelves and Paperbacks
Aimal’s blog aesthetic is vastly different, she’s more on the minimalistic side with earthy tones, calming vibes and polished graphic and it’s STUNNING, so are the pages of her bujo and I’m in love with the whole vibe her blog gives.
Best Blogging/Writing Voice
- Julianna @ Paperblots
Julianna is one of the funniest bloggers out there and no one can tell me otherwise. Her post are also infused with a healthy dose of humour no matter the topic and that’s a sure way to get me to hang around your blog whenever you have something new up. I just love how genuine and unfiltered she gets, okay? And she’s also a genuinely sweet person who’s fun to talk to.
- Rain @ Bookdragonism
I adore Rain’s blog for pretty much the same reasons I do Ju’s. Rain’s posts are so creative and also absolutely laugh out loud hilarious. She also has super fun and creative posts up all the time that are a mix of funny and helpful, or funny and informative…I JUST LIKE FUNNY PEOPLE OKAY?
Most Engaged in the Community
- Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books
I’m honestly always amazed AND grateful at how much time Marie takes out of her day to check out other blogs, like, reply with thoughtful comments and just make you feel like you’re an important part of the community. Her content is always A+ but the first things that sticks out to me when I think of her is how involved she is with other blogs and bloggers. I…uh…should take a page or two from her book.
Friendliest Member of the Community
- Laura @ Green Tea and Paperbacks
Laura is a LITERAL RAY OF SUNSHINE! Her posts make me so happy and her soft sunshiney personnality shows through them and the fact that she also reads and recommends middle grade adds to that. And that also extends to Twitter and all other ways I actually talk to her. I just love her lots.
Best at Promoting Diverse Books
- Shealea @ Shut Up, Shealea
Honestly, most bloggers I read recommend diverse books but the way Shealea goes about it is admirable. She focuses on Asian books, has a blog tour company dedicated to them, promotes them on all her platforms and just very consciously makes an effort to boost them and make them known to more and more people. And it works! She also has an Asian bloggers directory. So she’s doing The Most.
Honestly, a LOT of the bloggers I follow could qualify for this. But I’m trying to narrow it down and to not repeat the same people too many times.
Best New Book Blogger (started blog after August 2018)
- Cande @ Latinx Magic
Cande is one of my favourite people on Twitter so when she started her blog back in January, OF COURSE I was going to follow her. Cande is Argentinian and she focuses on Latinx books and does an amazing job at promoting them, she also reads 484839 books a month and have NO idea what kind of wizardry that is but I admire it. Her blog is also so cute and she deserves all the followers so please make sure to check out her blog after you leave here.
Best Small Book Blogger (under 1,000 followers)
- Tiffany @ Read by Tiffany
This is barely scraping it because Tiff is actually super close to 1k followers haha but IT COUNTS!!! First of all, she has such a soft, easy on the eye blog aesthetic and layout, she also posts a wide variety of content and it just all makes me happy honestly! My favourites though are her bookish moodboard, and more specifically the rainbow ones because they’re SO! PRETTY!
Best Overall Book Blogger
- Vicky @ Vicky who Reads
I’ve already gushed enough about her but honestly Vicky does The Most and I admire her hard work a lot.
- CW, Joce & Stella @ The Quiet Pond
With their joined efforts, theses three wonderful ladies put some of the best content in the blogosphere out there. From book reviews, to recommendations posts, including discussions and bookish news. You’ll never be bored while visiting the pond.
I think that will be all for my nominations. I love so many more bloggers so pls if you’re not included here, DON’T HATE ME! I STILL LOVE YOU A TON! K. Thnks. Bye.
That’s it until next time.
Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.
