A year and a half ago, I posted a list on here with some 30+ books with main f/f pairings (linked at the end of the post). And in the time since then, I found myself with so so many books that fall under that category to recommend and debated whether to update the old list or just make an new one so I just settled on making a new one 1/ for easy access and 2/ because a post with almost a 100 books can be pretty tedious because YES, this list of sapphic books I have today is 50 BOOKS LONG. And there are so many more out there that I haven’t included or don’t even know of, and the number of f/f reads out there just waiting for me to discover and/or read them just makes my heart happy. Without further ado, here are the books. Continue reading
This may come as a shock to those who know me now, but when I was little, I despised reading. When I first learned to read, I rarely applied my new skill to anything outside of the classroom. I did not read for entertainment, and I was primarily drawn to picture books. I thought, “What’s the point? It’s all boring and it takes too much time!” Continue reading

Publisher : Delacorte Press
Genre : Young Adult |Horror
Page Count: 353
Synopsis : It’s been eighteen months since the Raxter School for Girls was put under quarantine. Since the Tox hit and pulled Hetty’s life out from under her.
It started slow. First the teachers died one by one. Then it began to infect the students, turning their bodies strange and foreign. Now, cut off from the rest of the world and left to fend for themselves on their island home, the girls don’t dare wander outside the school’s fence, where the Tox has made the woods wild and dangerous. They wait for the cure they were promised as the Tox seeps into everything.
But when Byatt goes missing, Hetty will do anything to find her, even if it means breaking quarantine and braving the horrors that lie beyond the fence. And when she does, Hetty learns that there’s more to their story, to their life at Raxter, than she could have ever thought true. (from Goodreads)
Today I’m so very excited to have on the blog the author of one of my most anticipated releases of 2019 and that’s none other than Rena Barron, the author of African fantasy KINGDOM OF SOULS. And she’s here today with a post opening up about her journey towards being a published author. And let me tell you, I loved how candid and real this post is, and I’m honored to be sharing it with the rest of you. So enough from me, because that’s NOT what you’re here for and let’s get on with the actual post. Continue reading
It’s been…uh…three or four months? Since I last did this post and let me tell you…since then, my TBR has gotten OUT OF CONTROL. I’ve added at least 30 books to it, if not more? And at this rate, I’ll need to do this every week to get it under control again. Rip me. I think I might start doing more books in each post? I’m at 8 right now but I’ll up it to 10 and see if I’ll do even more next time haha. There are just way too many books on my TBR I’m not even interested in, or that are doubles, and I just need to get rid of them but also…talk about them. Continue reading
Hi, bookworm friends! My name is Marta and I usually rant about my opinions on books and bookish subjects on my blog, the book mermaid. Today I changed it up a bit, but I’m here to share with you how my reading habits are seen in my country, Portugal, that is indeed quite small(ish) – especially compared to the US. 😞 Continue reading

Since the start of this year I’ve been struggling a lot with rating. It started as me having an existensial crisis over 5 stars ratings because I rated considerably fewer books 5 stars this year compared to the ones before so I started wondering as to why that was. Was I reading less quality books? Are my reading tastes changing? Am I more critical? As well as changing my mind about the ratings I give books well after the fact. So it’s safe to say I’ve been having about a million thoughts about rating systems, star ratings and the value we put into them racing through my head for a major party of 2019.
I disappear yet again. huh? I really have been slacking at this blogging thing lately and I’m not sure what to tell you about it haha, but I have what I think are valid reasons I will get into in the rest of the post. Continue reading
