50+ MORE 2020 releases I have my eye on

Hello friends!

July is right around the corner and as such, I’m here to share with you my most anticipated releases for the second half of the year. I made a spreadsheet and everything this year because my brain and goodreads are too messy and cannot be trusted. There are so many amazing or amazing sounding books on this list that I literally wish I had over half of them in my hands right now, but alas, I gots to wait. Don’t ask me if I read those from the first half of the year though. We don’t talk about that.

You might have seen a few of these books on the list for the first half of the year, but that’s because a lot of releases got pushed because of Covid. What I find interesting though are two things: 1/ Almost half of these books release in September and 2/ Publishers tend to squeeze a LOT of books into the first week of each month. And I find both those things very interesting and want to dig some more into why those patterns exist. But anyway, without further do, let’s talk about the books. Like last time, there will be a video that goes with this post, it should be up tomorrow, but I already made one for all my anticipated queer releases, and it is down below.

  1. This list reminded me to preorder a couple of books, thank you Fadwa! I’m so excited for Court of Lions, Miss Meteor (my queer latinx can’t take the beauty of that cover!) and Girl Serpent Thorn. I’m so excited for you to read Lobizona, I loved it so much and it’s my precious child now

  2. I recently got Mirage for my birthday and will (hopefully) love it and go for Den of Lions. Ghost Wood Song sounds very interesting, in a nice early fall kind of way. Legend born also looks promising. Thank you for the list, Fadwa 🙂

    • I watched your book tub video and I highly recommend Uprooted by Naomi Novik. It is magical retelling to Beauty and the Beast and a Russian folk story and just sucks you into the atmospheric world building and the characters.

  3. Dang, I didn’t realize These Violent Delights came out so *late.* I had it in my head it came out in September, but I think that’s because I know that’s when Cemetery Boys comes out, so my brain is like “SEPTEMBER IS GOOD NEW BOOKS MONTH” and dumped every release date there whether it’s correct or not.

Anyway, Cemetery Boys is probably my number one most-anticipated release of this year out of the books that aren’t out yet!

  7. ‘Don’t ask me if I read those from the first half of the year though. We don’t talk about that.’ is definitely something I majorly relate to. I seriously hope to get reading some of my most anticipated books for the rest of the year as and when they come out as they sound amazing. Quite a few of them are included here too.
I hope you end up enjoying all of these.
