Award #18: Here comes the sun…AGAIN.

Hello friends!

Long time, no award seen! It’s been a little while since I’ve done one of these but I’m back with the Sunshine Blogger Award today as the lovely Aliénor @ Meet the Book World tagged me to do it so I must oblige. Plus, the questions sounded really fun so I thought why the hell not do it. Thank you for the tag lovely ❤ .

Award #17: This is apparently the only award I ever get tagged in anymore?

Hello guys !

I’m doing an award today and it’s… the same award as the past couple times haha. I’M SORRY OKAY ? But like, the questions vary so it’s something different every time even when the title is the same. It’s not that big of a deal, right? Right? This time around my wonderful sib Mariam @ Mariam’s Yummy Books is the one who tagged me, so thanks bub for the tag ❤

Award #16: Sunshine… Again?

Hello guys !

I’m here today for a second round of the Sunshine Blogger Award which I just realized is… the same award I did last time, but that was back in march so it’s fine, I think haha. This time around I was tagged by my friend Sinead @ Huntress of Diverse Books, thank you so much for nominating me.

Award #15: Here comes the Sun…

Hello guys !

I’m here today for a second round of the Sunshine Blogger Award. I did the first one a gazillion years ago so I thought it was okay to do it again now haha. Plus, the question vary a lot so I don’t risk being repetitive. This time around I was tagged by Marta @ The Book Mermaid, thank you so much for nominating me. And also, I slept on it for so long, which kind of made the last question kind of irrelevant right now haha. That being said, we’ll work with it.

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write then 11 new questions. (I’m lazy)
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

The Questions:

1. What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading nothing, it’s a very interesting book, 100% would recommend. Okay, no joke. I finished God Smites and other Muslim Girl problems yesterday (I’m writing this post on Sunday) and it was such a fun mystery. And I’m planning on starting When Dimple met Rishi by Sandhya Menon once I’m done blogging. And my excitement for it cannot be contained. I CAN’T WAIT.

2. What is your reading goal for this year?

Quantity wise, I put my goal at 60 books which is a very comfortable number for me as I was able to read nearly 80 books last year and I’m even 5 books ahead of schedule right now. So it’s safe to say that if I keep this up, it’ll be easy to reach my goal. Quality wise, I want to read mainly diverse books, which I already implemented in my reading and I’m very happy with it, and I really want to focus more on #Ownvoices books, which are the books by marginalized authors who write about their own marginalization.

3. Do you prefer sun or rain while reading?

Both? It depends on the book and where I am. If I am snuggled at home with a sad book, I like it to be rainy outside to set the right mood haha. But if I’m reading a happy kind of book with a lot of fluff and cuteness, I ideally like to sit outside in the sun. I say ideally because I am lazy and I do pretty much all my reading inside the house.

4. Can you describe the last book you read in five words?

As I said the last book I read is God Smites and Other Muslim girl Problems by Ishara Deen. The five words are: Honest – Funny – Fast read – Mystery.

5. Do you have any shelf dedicated to a specific series? If yes, do you keep there anything else related to it other than the books?

No I don’t, all in all, I only have one shelf of physical books. I only started buying physical copies a few months ago after a long while of figuring out the way that would ruin me the least. I’m really happy with it and I think that even if I had more book I wouldn’t have a shelf dedicated to one series just because I’m not a collector and I’d rather buy other books than other editions of ones I already own.

6. Who are your favorite female characters of all time?

Inej and Nina from Six of Crows. Shocker I know, but I love those girls to death and the way they have each other’s backs gives me life. Yael from Wolf by Wolf because she’s kick-ass and her character development is incredible. Last but not least, Lila from the Shades of Magic trilogy because how can I not? She’s stabtastic all the while being very soft on the inside. Really deep inside though. I wouldn’t recommend you trying to mess with her.

7. What is your favorite item on your shelves and why?

My books? hahaha. Okay, no, item. I’m not home right now so let me think for a second or two. I’d say it’s my Six of Crows notebook which also doubles as my journal which I love writing in. It’s a mess of my thoughts, notable events and any other idea that crosses my mind and I think would make a cute spread.

8. What is your favorite tv show at the moment?

I’m kind of in an in between phase where my latest obsession -the Royals- is on a break and I’m caught up with all the other tv-shows I watch haha, and I’ve been watching them for so long that none can qualify as my favorite “at the moment”. I’m thinking of starting a few but I can’t decide on which one to start with. Sigh. Life is hard.

9. What was your biggest reading disappointments of this year?

Benjamin Alire Sàenz - The Inexplicable Logic of my Life.jpg

Easy. The Inexplicable Logic of my Life by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I expected to love it and I would have… if it weren’t a problematic mess. I am baffled and disappointed and frustrated. For a more in depth look into my thoughts, here’s the review I posted last Friday.

10. Do you usually write a bookish Christmas wishlist or let your family pick whatever they think you’d like?

I don’t celebrate Christmas but generally speaking I never make wishlists because I’m a sucker for surprises. My family knows me pretty well because I make sure to shout about all the things I love at every occasion haha. So I’ve never ever been disappointed with anything they got me.

11. What book you must finish before the end of 2016?

*awkward silence* *cricket noise* Umm… We kind of are in 2017 now that I’ve finally gotten around to doing this so I’m not sure how or if to answer this question. I’M SORRY I SUCK OKAY?

That’s it until next time.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Award #14: My attempt at a Life Aesthetic

Awards.pngHello Guys!

A few weeks ago, I was nominated for what, in my opinion, is the greatest, most unique award I’ve ever encountered. My awesome friend Liam @ Hey Ashers created the Aesthetics Blogger award, I was tagged by the lovely Sammie @ Bookshelves & Biros as well, so thank you both, you’re awesome! This will be my first ever attempt at an aesthetic, let’s hope I don’t fail. So here’s what the Award is about:

Bloggers are (let’s just be honest here) the absolute best. There’s so much diversity and personality and creativity in this community—and what better way to celebrate those things than by spending the next twelve hours of our lives hunting down and collaging the images that best reflect our individual awesomeness?

The Rules:

  • Collect any number of images that you feel represent you as a person—your personality, aspirations, favorite things, anything at all that makes you you.
  • Put your chosen images together into a collage of whatever size and shape you find pleasing.
  • Share your masterpiece with everyone, in all the places.
  • Maybe nominate other bloggers as a way to tell them, “Hey, you, I think you’re awesome, and we should celebrate that awesomeness.”
  • Share these rules (and maybe the below tips, if you’re feeling helpful).

Award #13: I’m a Mysterious Potato… NOT.

Mystery Award.png

Hello Guys!

Long time no Awards seen, am I right? Well, I’m back today with one that I haven’t seen going around much so I decided why not do it now. It’s the Mystery Blogger Award for which I was tagged by two lovely people who are Jasmine @ How Useful it is and Jamie @ Book Pandamonium. This award was created by Okoto Enigma and this is what it is for:

“Mystery Blogger Award”  is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

The Rules:

  • Put the award logo/image on your blog
  • List the rules
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself
  • You nominate 10 – 20 people
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify)
  • Share a link to your best post(s)

I have no idea if this will be repetitve or not, but here we go:

  1. I used to drink lots of milk as a kid but now my stomach can’t take it. I may be Lactose intolerant.
  2. On allergies. Cats kill me. I cannot be in the same room as one or hell breaks down on me.
  3. I don’t have a favorite movie though I watch a lot.
  4. I like both Tea and Coffe but if I had to choose, it’ll be Tea everytime.
  5. I had short hair my whole childhood so now I can’t seem to be able to cut it above chest length. IT HURTS MY SOUL.
  6. I used to paint a lot as a kid and now I’m slowling getting back into it.

1. What’s your favorite book genre ?

Well, we’re off to an awful start because I. CAN’T. CHOOSE. I love Fantasy, contemporary AND Historical Fiction equally. They’re all my babies. Plus, I get bored easily so I switch between the three quite often.

2. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Mmm, I don’t know? Like, I’ve never thought of something as a guilty pleasure. I own up to my actions haha. No. I just don’t know what it is. I’m sure I have more than one that I don’t even consider as such.

3. Dogs or cats?

Refer to fact 2 to have your answer. I can’t be a cat person even if I wanted to. I mean I like cats, I even had one before this allergy ordeal but I ADORE dogs, my goal in life is to have a house of my own to have a dog, because my mom doesn’t want one at home *sigh* even though she had one when her and my dad first got married. Yes, that’s how much I love them.

4. Best book you read this year?

JUST ONE? What kind of question is this. But fair enough, if I had to choose just one that I want everyone to read, it’ll be Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi. I cannot express how grateful I am that this book exists, just go read it, PEUH-LEASE !! Here’s my review to help convince  you.

5. Weird Question: What was your favorite/weirdest dream?

I don’t have a favorite dream but the weirdest one is one that I’ve been having since I was a kid, I don’t know what it, I just know that it is the same one, like when I’m dreaming I know but once I wake up I have NO idea, I just know that I’ve had it gazillion times before. Also, when I was a kid it used to be a nightmare but now it’s not?!

1. What do you like to do most this time of year?

NOT study for exams. Like, literally ANYTHING else because that’s ALL I do this time of the year and it is killing me. I’ve been at it for a month now so I’m stressed, exhausted and freaking out. I’m fine though (Send help).

2. Did you already plan for how many books you will read next year?

Well, at least 70 hopefully because I read more thant that this year, though I’ll be putting my goal on Goodreads to 60. It is 10 more books than last year’s challenge but still not too stressful because I’m giving myself a comfortable margin.

3. What is your #1 goal next year?

Survive 3rd year of medschool? Sorry ahaha. My brain is overpowered with everything study related right now. One of my main goals for next year is to draw/paint/hand-letter more frequently. Like, I do that from time to time right now but I want to make more time for it and thus do it more often.

4. Are you happy with the direction your blog is heading?

VERY happy, actually. I’ve got a new design, recently hit 500 followers (I still can’t believe it), and have a general vision for what I want my blog to be next year content wise. So, yeah! I’m pretty satisfied with the direction it’s headed.

5. Weird: What extreme do you go to take care of books you own?

Mmm… None? None that I consider an extreme that is hahaha.

Mystery 4.png

(Didn’t want to use any of the old ones because of the graphics hahaha)

I Tag:

My Questions:

  1. What’s one pet-peeve you have that you cannot handle above all others?
  2. What’s your favorite Tv-show? Movie? Book?
  3. What’s your main reading resolution for next year?
  4. What’s one hidden skill you have?
  5. Funny Question: What’s one emoji that you use out of place or that no one else uses?

That’s it until next time.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Award #12: How it All began and How to make it Last !

Hello guys !

I don’t think I ever told you about my story with the bookish community or how I joined it. Mainly because it is not that fascinating of a story and it is pretty common to a lot of bloggers/booktubers, but here we are today with an award done specifically for that, so I thought why the hell not bore you to sleep with that little story of mine in the Blogger Recognition Award. I was tagged by Kate @ The Nerdy Novelty who’s a new blogger (she already has an amazing blog) so go over there and show her some love, as well as Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews whom you should definitely check out too because she’s awesome !!

The rules :

  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.

How my Blog started

So, allow me to take you back a little bit, to the start of this year, more precisely the end of January 2016. Throughout the whole year of 2015, I have been in and out of a reading slump which means that I did little to no reading. If I remember correctly, I didn’t even read 10 books last year but by th end of it, I got that urge to read EVERYTHING but I knew that if I didn’t commit to it, that urge would go away and with it my chance to read anything.

Now, I’m not one to make any New Year’s resolutions but for this, I felt like I needed some goal to work toward, some extra motivation to keep me on track so I decided that I’d make it a “resolution” to read 2 books a month, which, to my surprise, I surpassed. I not only doubled or tripled it, I actually read 8 books that month. I was SO proud of myself, because at that point I had never read so many books in a month.

In parallel with that, I had been following booktube channels for a couple of years and even though I was in a reading slump,  I still watched them hoping it would kick start my reading again. So when I got my mojo back, I started looking for blogs to get some book recommendations from, which I found, A LOT OF THEM. I’m sure you know how it goes haha. With my reading, came this need to share my thoughts about the books I read. SO MANY FEELS YOU GUYS!!!

So, I started wondering if I could do the same and start a blog of my own, if I could manage it, if I would have enough things to say to begin with, etc… and as January passed these thoughts of mine became more present until one night with my parents out of town, I got my laptop out and wrote my first review ever, which was for The Martian as well as a couple other posts just to test myself. And I realized that I DID have things to say and even though I didn’t know if anyone would be interested, I mainly wanted a place to come back to whenever I think about a book I read.

That, my friends, is how Word Wonders was born.

Advice for the new and not-so new

Interact. Interact. INTERACT. I can never stress this enough, but it is crucial to get yourself out there and known of other bookbloggers. Like posts. Leave comments. Participate in tags. Chat on Twitter. Whatever it is as long as you make yourself an ACTIVE part of the community. I know it can seem intimidating, believe me, I’ve been there not that long ago but I promise we don’t bite, we can be pretty nice if approached with care, just give us books and food and we’ll love you forever. More seriously though, as I said, I know it is easier said than done but it is actually easily done too. I must admit it took me a little while to comment on blogs but once you hit the enter button that first time, the rest is history. Plus, it can only be positive. You get awesome friendships out of it.

Don’t stress about it. At the end of the day, blogging is your HOBBY (unless you monetize it,, which is completely fine too) so it means that it is something you do for fun and to escape the stress of your daily life, so it would be silly to get worked up over it too. I know we can get caught up in stats, drama, schedules and what not sometimes but it is good in those moments to distance yourself and remember that there is no pressure to do anything. You CAN skip posting if you’re too busy or just don’t feel like it, you CAN disapear for a little while if you need it. This is YOUR space, you can do whatever floats your boat with it.

With this, comes the end of this very rambly award.

My Nominees:

I think that most people have done this one, so if YOU haven’t, feel free to do it. I would love to read your blogging story and some of the advice you’d give. Just make sure to leave a link, or pingback to this post.

That’s it until next time.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Award #11: We All have a Book Bond

Hello guys !

This is one of the two last awards that are still sitting around and then I will finally be all caught up. It only took me a gazillion months, no biggie. In succession with Monday’s post and to #SpreadtheLove a bit more (I swear it wasn’t planned, just realized that they kind of fit together huh!), let’s do the Siblinghood of the World Award. I was tagged by the wonderful Sammie @ Boookshelves and Biros, thank you so much ! And the rest of you should definitely go check her blog out because she’s the sweetest and her blog rocks!

The rules :

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog in your post.
  • Answer the questions that the blogger who nominated you has provided.
  • Nominate ten other bloggers (or up to 10).
  • Create ten questions for your nominees and notify them of their nominations.

The Questions :

1. What’s your favourite thing to cook? (soz, got food on the brain)

Ahaha! Well, this is a fair question because let’s be honest, when do I NOT have food on the brain? With books, that’s all that haunts my mind. Mmm… I like to cook quite a lot, that’s a thing I really enjoy doing but I’ve never actually thought of something specific I like to cook. *My brain drains from all food thoughts* . OH! I like to do this chicken in the oven with potatoes and a yummy creamy sauce with mushrooms. IT. IS. HEAVEN.

2. Snog, marry, throw off a cliff: Will Herondale, Julian Blackthorn, Magnus Bane.

This is surprisingly fairly easy. I still haven’t read Lady Midnight so the obvious choice is to thrown Julian off a cliff. Sorry man, nothing personal. Then, I would snog Magnus because I see myself spending the rest of my life with him as my best friend and not any other way. And THEN I’ll marry pretty swoony Will because I love him way too much to choose anyone else. Though if Jem was on this list, he would definitely overthrow Will, just saying.

3. Coffee or tea?

Moroccan Mint Tea, no doubt. I drink that for breakfast every morning so duh! If you’ve never had it, YOU’RE MISSING OUT! All my foreigner friends love it and now that they’re back to their home countries, have been complaining to me that all tea now tastes dull to them (No offense to other teas but I’m just reporting what they said). I still like coffee though.

4. What’s the best quote you’ve recently come across in a book?

Well, I have been rereading almost exclusively Harry Potter for the past month and a half so that quote is bound to be from there, I’ll choose one from the Order of the Phoenix because it’s the last one I read.

“We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.”

5. Name three things you couldn’t live without?

Food, Oxygen and Books? Well, I think that I personally could do without Oxygen but eh! I’ll be humble and join you humans in your addiction to that thing. But FOOD and BOOKS though, I can’t imagine my life without them and when I say food I mean all the delicious things that melt my stone heart. And books, well… ALL THE BOOKS.

6. If you had to get rid of all but one of the apps on your phone, which one would you keep?

My e-reader for sure. I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT THAT THING. As I said before I read mostly e-books and since I can’t live without books, I would literally die without it.

7. Do you have any WordPress pet peeves/annoyances?

Oh yes I do. There’s the fact that editing options are pretty limited, like how I cannot make a single word in a paragraph  a different size than the others. Sometimes I like to scream -most of the time- and I feel like Caps are not enough. I can’t think of anything else at the moment because my blog has been behaving itself lately, but I’m sure there are more.

8. Describe your ideal Saturday morning.

Oh man! I would wake up and stay in bed reading for around an hour. Get up have breakfast and go for a nice long walk in a beautiful park (sort-of) close to my house. I’ll go back have a shower, or maybe a relaxing bath, afterwards I would have lunch and blog for a few hours and then dinner and read until I fall asleep. Pretty achievable you say? Not when you have to study your brains out for the next week’s classes. And as you can see, my Sunday doesn’t involve socializing, because it is my break day from people.

9. Open the book closest to your laptop/computer/tablet to page 54: what does the first line say?

Well, the closest physical book to my laptop right now is Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell and the first line on page 54 says:

“Something strange happened at 6 a.m. Darth Vader got in line.”

That definitely is an interesting sentence.

10. What’s your favorite cocktail?

Uuuum, I don’t drink alcohol, so I wouldn’t know haha.

My questions :

  1. Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
  2. If you are in a bad mood, do you prefer to be left alone or have someone to cheer you up?
  3. How would your friends describe you?
  4. Do you judge a book by its cover?
  5. Are you organized? If so, what are your top 3 tips.
  6. If a genie granted you 3 wishes right now, what would you wish for?
  7. What was your dream job growing-up?
  8. What book has had the most impact on you?
  9. What character would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island?
  10. If you could interview any author dead or alive, who would it be?

My Nominees:

Amanda @ Cover 2 Cover Mom –  Kate @ The Nerdy Novelty – Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews – Melissa @ Book Nerd Momo – Niraja @ Fantastic Books annd Where to Find Them – Kat @ Life and Other Disasters – Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books

If you’ve already done it, or don’t want to do it, it’s okay, ignore silly me haha.

That’s it until next time.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Award #10 : I’m a neat freak and loving it !

Hello guys  !

I’m back yet again with another award that has been sitting around for ages, I don’t have any excuse really, I’m just a lazy potato who tends to sit on her tags and awards until they’re a few months late, because there is obviously no other way of doing it, right? Today’s tag is the Real Neat Blogger Award for which I have been tagged my the amazing Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews. Don’t forget to check out her blog and show her some love, she’s  SO sweet, and hilarious too!

Real neat.png

The rules :

  • Thank and link the blogger that nominated you.
  • Answer the 7 questions that the nomination has provided you.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.

I’m not going to be tagging anyone this time because this has been going around for so long that I don’t know who still hasn’t done it. And also because I’m feeling above average lazy and my brain cannot think up new questions.

Lauren’s questions :

1) What was the last song you listened to?

Mmm… I went out this morning so I listen to music from my phone so let’s see. It was Glowing by The Script. It is no surprise at all hehe. That’s my favorite band there so most the songs I listen to are theirs.

2) The world is ending and you only have time to read one more book, what do you choose?

Khaled Hosseini - And the Mountains Echoed

One book that I bought recently and that I’m REALLY excited to dive into is And the Mountains echoed by Khaled Hosseini. I heard really great things about it and I’ve been told that it is a very emotional read so I cannot wait to cry my eyes out ! So that would most definitely be it.
3) Your current phone/computer background?

Ouuh shocker ! It is obviously a quote from one of my favorite books of all times. A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab. It is also quite motivational and it wants me to just go out there and explore the world while I still can.

4) What’s your Star Sign? Do you believe in Astrology?

Capricorn. And no I don’t believe in Astrology but I think it is always fun to look up my horoscope and just see what it says and kind of compare it with the truth, which is always faaar from it.

5) Besides Harry Potter, what book world would you most like to live in?

Can I see the Harry Potter world nonetheless? Hahaha. No? Okay. I’d say Red London from Shades of Magic. I actually do not have a lot to choose from because I don’t read High Fantasy so I don’t usually have “New worlds” to explore. Though I’m working on changing that and start reading more of it.

6) Zombies are attacking and you get to chose 3 or 4 fictional (books/movies/tv) characters to help you fight. Who do you pick?

5de6e747856c5ef94bff1a01ea495155  05c734bc470cb71aa55c9707d4790a35  64d77802c1bbd61f4f0af512cae338e1

Mmm interesting question. I’d choose Alec from The Mortal Instruments because he’s good with a crossbow and won’t let most of them get to us. Alucard from A Gahtering of Shadows because he’s badass and would slay them all. And Wolf from The Lunar Chronicles because duuh!!

7) Do you have any pets? Tell me about them! Photos encouraged if you have any so I can cry over the cuteness. Otherwise if you could have any pet in the world that you wanted, what would it be?

No I don’t ! *sobs* I used to have a little kitten, she was with us for 3 months and then I turned out allergic. WHY DO YOU BETRAY ME, BODY? So we had to give her away to a family we knew. If  I could have any pet in the world now, it would probably be a husky, I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH !! They’re beyond beautiful, and they’re big fluffy dogs just like I like them.

Award #9 : It’s sunny ! So let’s answer a Gazillion Questions

Hello Guys !

I’ll never cease to say it, I am THE WORST at keeping up with tags and awards ! It’s gotten so bad just when I thought I was doing better at managing them but hey it’s okay, there will be a very far time when I’ll have done all of them, maybe later than I’m supposed to, but at least I’ll do them all ! For today, it’s going to be The Sunshine Blogger Award and it is quite fitting to be honest, it has been SO HOT these past couple days in Morocco, my brain is melting and I can’t think straight, so excuse me in advance if I ramble. I’ve been tagged for this one by some lovely ladies: Giovannard @ Bookcoma Blog , Felicia @ Fell for Books and Sammie @ Bookshelves and Biros. Thank you so much !

The rules :

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Answer 11 questions set by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions to answer.

Giovannard’s questions :

1. What is your favorite movie?

HOW? Just HOW am I supposed to know this with a billion movies out there. I genuinely don’t have a favorite movie *gasps*. I watch a lot of movies, and love a lot of movies but never thought of one of them as “YES! This one is my favorite.”

2. What is your dream job?

Umm.. The one I’m studying my ass off for right now? haha I hope to not blow some fuses in my brain before getting to be a decent doctor some day in the future, which I’m very pumped but also might-pee-my-pants nervous about.

3. What is your favorite color?

Blue no doubt ! All kinds and shades. Well, almost, there is one I don’t like but let’s forget about it.

4. What is your favorite food/restaurant?

What food is NOT my favorite you mean ? haha I’m just kidding, my favorite food has to be sushis, I’m always craving it and can’t get enough of it. Proof: I just ate it yesterday and want some more right now.

5. Favorite Band or Musical Artist?

This one is fairly easy … I think. My favorite band is probably The Script. I just love them so much and keep listening to their songs over and over again without ever getting fed up. So that answers it, right?

6. Hardback or Paperback Books?

Theoretically, Hardbacks. They just look so pretty on shelves and I’m admirative of anyone who manages to get ALL of their books in hardback. But really, I prefer Paperbacks, they’re just easier to manage and are cheaper.

7. What book was the last book you read, and gave 5 Stars?

A Gathering of Shadows Final

A Gathering of Shadows by QUEEN V. E. SCHWAB. I’m still not over how amazing that book is. I could rave on and on and on about it -which I did in my review that’s going up next week- and I wouldn’t do it justice. ALL OF YOU PEOPLE SHOULD READ IT NOW.

8. Have you ever given a book 1 Star, and if so, what book was it?

Alwyn Hamilton - Rebel of the Sands

Yep, just recently actually. It was Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton and just the thought of it gets me all worked up again. I won’t go into the detail about all the problems I had with it here, because all of probably know all about it from my review.

9. What is your favorite book genre?

It is a tie between Fantasy and Contemporary, please don’t make me choose, I CAN’T. Yes, they are at different ends of the spectrum but I loved both genres more than words can express and the amount of both I read this year is actually pretty similar, so that says it all.

10. Who is your favorite author?

Just this year, I added SO many new favorite authors to my list. And since I already brought up Schwab’s awesomeness in another question, I’ll say Jandy Nelson. HER CONTEMPORARIES THOUGH. Realest, most genuine portrayals I’ve ever read.

11. Have you ever traveled outside of your country? If so, where to?

Yes, I did once like 6 years ago (WOW WAS IT THAT LONG ?) and I went to both Spain and France on a kind of road trip with my aunt. It was SO good.

Felicia’s questions :

1. A book you want to read but haven’t yet because of it’s size?

This can either be Outlander by Diana Gabaldon or A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. They’re MASSIVE BOOKS, especially the latter. But I’ll eventually end up reading them.

2. Your favorite tv-series?

What’s with you people and favorite? *faints* I’m a VERY indecisive person, I’m sure you have noticed so I just can’t deal with picking, there are way too many great things in the world. But to narrow it down, it’s between Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill. (The Gif for GA made me sob a little, no biggy, I’m just broken here)

3. If you were a mythical creature, what would you be?

Medusa ? hahaha. Okay no, probably a centaur, they always fascinated me and they’re some of my all time favorite mythical creatures, so beautiful and strong but also very protective of their own.

4. What’s your dream job?

See the answer for Giovannard’s Q2.

5. Name 3 things you’re really good at.

Do eating, sleeping and reading count ? Okay probably not. So, I’m a great listener, I’m pretty decent at drawing and a good dancer.

6. Your ultimate OTP?

DECISIONS AGAIN ! This Award is going to be the death of me. I just have so many ships. But the first one that I truly shipped and that has a special place in my heart is Cather and Levi from Fangirl. kfhehk lsphvnb *-*

7. A new release you’re excited for?

J. K. Rowling - (#8) HP and the Cursed Child.jpg

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD. YAAAS !! I can’t wait to get my hands on it and just dive right back in that wonderful, fantastical, magical world.

8. What color are your eyes?

Very, very dark brown.

9. A fictional world you want to live in?

Red London from the Shades of Magic trilogy. But can we please close off White London or something, that place gives me the creeps.

10. A book character you’d like to meet?

Everyone that I love maybe ? I’ll go with Yael from Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin. She’s just so badass and amazing, plus who wouldn’t want to meet and befriend a shapeshifter. I know you do too !

11. What’s the best book you’ve read this year so far?

All of you already know about this one ! It’s I’ll Give you the Sun by Jandy Nelson, duh !! That book has been SO hard to top. But there’s also Wolf by Wolf AND A Gathering of Shadows. I DON’T KNOW OKAY ? I CAN’T CHOOSE.

Sammie’s questions :

1. What’s your happiest memory?

Wow ! This is a deep one. Um.. Let me think about this for a bit ! It was probably when I knew I got into Med School. It was not only a dream come true but also the look of pride on my mom’s face meant the world to me. It reduced me to tears.

2. Which OTP (one true pairing) makes you the happiest?

Probably Oscar and Jude from I’ll Give you the Sun. Their interactions were so awkward and funny and I just rooted for them so much that thinking about them always makes me happy.

3. How do you like to relax and unwind?

Tv-shows. Anyone who answers books is a big fat liar. BOOKS STRESS ME OUT PEOPLE! Tv-shows or YouTube videos on the other hand don’t strangle my feelings so yeah ! Definitely those.

4. What do you find most satisfying about blogging?

The interactions with no doubt in mind. I just love seeing all of your comments, responding to them, discussing. And also just talking on Twitter and making new friendships that I’ll cherish forever. I love you guys ! You’re awesome !

5. What’s your spirit animal?

We’re talking about actual animals here right? In that case, it’s the wolf. Don’t ask why, I have no clue ! I just have always said the wolf hehe and recent books I read have only intensified that certainty.

6. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Pizza probably? I LOVE Pizza and I can play with the toppings however I want to make sure I never get tired of it, because this girl right here can eat anything on a pizza … except maybe pineapples, I hate those as a topping.

7. What one piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Don’t care so much about what people might or might not think of you. That’s the biggest issue I had growing up. People’s opinions affected and scared me so much that it got to a point (around 15) when I dreaded going out of the house, especially to go to school. If people didn’t like me? There was something wrong with me. If people criticized something I loved? I started hiding it. If people criticized something I was doing? I stopped it altogether. It was really bad and I only stopped giving a shit my senior year of High School and I’ve never been happier.

8. Tell us about one fictional character that makes you smile!

Cress from The Lunar Chronicles. She’s so shy, naïve (not the annoying kind) and endearing. She’s like a little baby that I want to cover in hugs and marshmallows and protect at all costs. But at the same time, for someone who doesn’t know her way around earth -and life- she’s not completely helpless and quite resourceful.

9. If you could go back in time and live in any era, what would it be?

Ancient Greece. I love it so so much ! And it is a time period that fascinated me since I was a kid. I just love the history and all the mythology surrounding it.

10. Do you have any secret talents or party tricks?

Mmm… I don’t know about a secret talent but I’m quite flexible which always surprises people haha. And also, my fingers are double jointed so I can do all kind of crazy things with them.

11. Give me a quote that makes you happy!

Guess where this quote is from. I’ll Give you the Sun obviously ! Almost all the quotes from that book make me happy, because the book in itself is my ray of sunshine (okay I’m turning into a fluffball here, I’ll stop) But this one makes me happy AND is about happiness.

“I watch him throw his head back in supreme happiness, like he’s hearing that he gets to choose the colors for all the sunsets from now on.”

My questions :

  1. What has been the highlight of the year for you ?
