TAG #21: The Mid-Autumn Festival Tag

Hello guys !

You know how there are some tags that you HAVE to do in a certain time frame or else it would be ridiculously unfit to do them? Well, this is one of them. It literally is called the Mid-autumn Festival Tag so it is now or never. I must admit that I have a moutain of other tags that is threatening of crumbling on me and that I will eventually get to, but a girl has to set her priorities straight and in this case prioritize the tag that has a set time to be done. Enough ramblings let’s get on with the tag.

This tag was created by Tinka @ The Crazy Reader and I was tagged by the lovely Kat @ Life and Other Disasters. You should definitely check out her blog, it’s awesome ans she recently started sharing really interesting insights about her writing experience. DO IT!

Book Cover = Goodreads page

x1Name a Book with Family Goals.

Jandy Nelson - The Sky is Everywhere

I think the obvious answer for this one would be the Weasleys from Harry Potter, I freaking love that family and how they all work so well together. But one family that I hold dear to my heart is Lennie’s family from The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. Yes, it is more on the inconventional side because it is just Lennie, her uncle and her grandma but what’s goals is their love for each other and how close they are despite drifting away from each other for a bit because of everything they went through.

x2Name a Book with a Werewolf*

*this festival has nothing to do with werewolves; the only common things is the full moon.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book solely about Werewolves, they’ve never really been my thing (If you forget about that time when I was obsessed with Teen Wolf). And the only series that I can think about that has them besides the obvious Twilight, is The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare which I love and also can we talk about how big of a sweetheart Luke is? I must admit, that isn’t something I would’ve ever imagined myself saying about a werewolf.

x3Name a Kind of Food in a Book that you Wish was Real.

Mmm… All of the candy from Harry Potter (I’m sure I can answer every and each of these questions with that series, but I won’t). It seriously was my dream growing up to be part of that world -and it still is to be honest- and half of the reason was all the candy that sounds so yummy.

x4Name your Favorite Creature from a Book.

I would say Dobby from Harry Potter (See what I was talking about?) He is so amazing and brave and hilarious. I know you love him too, who doesn’t to be honest? He’s awesome!

x5A Character that Makes a Significant Change to the Plot Since he/she did something too many times

Well, I have the perfect answer for that one. Love for the Romantics by Leah Konen. I’ll have to say that most of the “pushes” she made had bad results but she kept on trying until she made things right and the thing that was supposed to happen happened. The thing that she did too many times is getting involved in Gael’s faith.

x6 Name a Toy or Game in a Book that you Liked to Read About.

Morgan Matson - Since you've been gone

Does the To-do list in Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson count as a game? I think it does and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the adventures Emily embarked in because of the items in that list.

x7Name a Book which you Feel is the Best to Read in Autumn.

Rainbow Rowell - Fangirl 2

I’d have to agree with Kat on this one because to me Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is the perfect Autumn read. I read it in Winter last year and if it wasn’t still so vivid in my brain, I would be reading it right now cuddling up in my bed with a mug of Hot Chocolate and lots of feels and fangirling over how cute and sweet Levi is. Fun fact: Levi is my first ever book boyfriend, so that book holds a special spot in my heart.

x8Name your Favorite Festival in a Book

I’m 100% sure I’ve never read a book with a Festival in it soo I don’t have an answer for this one. Now that I think about it, is there a book with some kind of Festival in it, out there in the world? If you know any, tell me! I’m really curious to know.

Award #10 : I’m a neat freak and loving it !

Hello guys  !

I’m back yet again with another award that has been sitting around for ages, I don’t have any excuse really, I’m just a lazy potato who tends to sit on her tags and awards until they’re a few months late, because there is obviously no other way of doing it, right? Today’s tag is the Real Neat Blogger Award for which I have been tagged my the amazing Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews. Don’t forget to check out her blog and show her some love, she’s  SO sweet, and hilarious too!

Real neat.png

The rules :

  • Thank and link the blogger that nominated you.
  • Answer the 7 questions that the nomination has provided you.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.

I’m not going to be tagging anyone this time because this has been going around for so long that I don’t know who still hasn’t done it. And also because I’m feeling above average lazy and my brain cannot think up new questions.

Lauren’s questions :

1) What was the last song you listened to?

Mmm… I went out this morning so I listen to music from my phone so let’s see. It was Glowing by The Script. It is no surprise at all hehe. That’s my favorite band there so most the songs I listen to are theirs.

2) The world is ending and you only have time to read one more book, what do you choose?

Khaled Hosseini - And the Mountains Echoed

One book that I bought recently and that I’m REALLY excited to dive into is And the Mountains echoed by Khaled Hosseini. I heard really great things about it and I’ve been told that it is a very emotional read so I cannot wait to cry my eyes out ! So that would most definitely be it.
3) Your current phone/computer background?

Ouuh shocker ! It is obviously a quote from one of my favorite books of all times. A Gathering of Shadows by V. E. Schwab. It is also quite motivational and it wants me to just go out there and explore the world while I still can.

4) What’s your Star Sign? Do you believe in Astrology?

Capricorn. And no I don’t believe in Astrology but I think it is always fun to look up my horoscope and just see what it says and kind of compare it with the truth, which is always faaar from it.

5) Besides Harry Potter, what book world would you most like to live in?

Can I see the Harry Potter world nonetheless? Hahaha. No? Okay. I’d say Red London from Shades of Magic. I actually do not have a lot to choose from because I don’t read High Fantasy so I don’t usually have “New worlds” to explore. Though I’m working on changing that and start reading more of it.

6) Zombies are attacking and you get to chose 3 or 4 fictional (books/movies/tv) characters to help you fight. Who do you pick?

5de6e747856c5ef94bff1a01ea495155  05c734bc470cb71aa55c9707d4790a35  64d77802c1bbd61f4f0af512cae338e1

Mmm interesting question. I’d choose Alec from The Mortal Instruments because he’s good with a crossbow and won’t let most of them get to us. Alucard from A Gahtering of Shadows because he’s badass and would slay them all. And Wolf from The Lunar Chronicles because duuh!!

7) Do you have any pets? Tell me about them! Photos encouraged if you have any so I can cry over the cuteness. Otherwise if you could have any pet in the world that you wanted, what would it be?

No I don’t ! *sobs* I used to have a little kitten, she was with us for 3 months and then I turned out allergic. WHY DO YOU BETRAY ME, BODY? So we had to give her away to a family we knew. If  I could have any pet in the world now, it would probably be a husky, I JUST LOVE THEM SO MUCH !! They’re beyond beautiful, and they’re big fluffy dogs just like I like them.

TAG #16 : Pokémon GO Book Tag

Hello Guys !

If you follow me on Twitter, especially during that first week after the game came out, you know I’m a huuuge Pokémon Junky, so it was only the normal course of events for me to do the Pokémon Go Book Tag. Though I must admit that I haven’t been playing lately, because I got frustrated with the same pokémons ALL THE DAMN TIME around my area. Plus, there’s one pokéstop and NO gyms. I have to go weeeell into the city to find one and ain’t nobody got time for that !

This Awesome tag was create by Aentee @ Read at Midnight and I’ve been dying to get tagged because it is so perfect. So, I kind of jumped a little when Aimal @ Bookshelves & Paperbacks did, thanks girl, you rock ! You should also check out her blog because it’s amazing ! I’m not leaving you a choice here, GO!

Brothers Grimm

Is “I don’t remember” a valid answer? Because I genuinely don’t. I have been reading before I could even read. Well, my mom read to me but you get it ! But the first book that came to mind is this gigantic Brothers Grimm Fairytales that I adored. I still love it to bits and pieces actually !

Yeah, I think I’ll go with Aimal’s answer for this one and say Harry Potter. I JUST LOVE THOSE BOOKS SO MUCH OKAY? And I’m in the middle of a re-read for all of them so I may be over-emotional as of right now. Because the Nostalgia is real. I haven’t read these in forever, there are even some I never re-read so these are great times for Word Wonders’ history.  Add to that the fact that I see sooo many new things that I was blind to before. GREAT TIMES I’M TELLING YOU.

I might get shunned out of the community for this one, but I’m just completely over Throne of Glass. When I first started blogging, it was one of the series I wanted to read most but now, the hype got to me. I don’t want to read it anymore. That’s actually what overwhelming amounts of hype do to me, they make me shy away from books.

The Lunar Chronicles for sure. The series might have a lot of tropes and can be cheesy at times but I’m 100% okay with it because it is not annoying, the series is still GREAT, it definitely has some new concepts so it balances it out. I just love how fun and thrilling it is, it never fails to be entertaining .

Well there are two, I can think of which are Outlander and A song of Ice and Fire. But the first I intend to tackle soon but ASOIAF is so intimidating to because the books are not only HUGE but also have like a gazillion characters and a complicated plot. The Tv-show though is one of my favorites so I know that I’ll eventually pick the books up.

Cassie Clare - (#6) City of Heavenly Fire

ALL OF THEM ? I’m a night reader so now that it is summer, I usually read ’til 2 or 3am reading. Though, one that I can vividly remember staying up until 5am for is City of Heavenly Fire. That is NOT a short book and I read it in two sittings, I read more than half of it the second time. I just couldn’t stop because so many things kept happening, and Malec, and Izzy, and Simon. OH THEM FEELS !!

Jandy Nelson - I'll Give You the Sun

This heart of mine ships A LOT ! And I mean it, I have one too many ships and trying to choose just one now is torture. Lemme think … Jude and Oscar from I’ll Give you the Sun are very well up there. Because they’re so darn cute ! The start of their relationship was so awkward and funny because of Jude’s resistance (Which was all for nothing if you fifn’t already guess) AND OH MY GOD ! So much chemistry ! So much I tell you !!

A Gathering of Shadows Final

As if you don’t already know what my answer for this one is. For one I’m obsessed with A Gathering of Shadows and I cannot stop talking about it (Obviously) plus the series became an all time favorite of mine so it’s pretty normal behavior for me to throw it at all of your faces until you ALL read it.

jksI don’t know, none ? I just think once a story serves its purpose, there’s no need to milk it even further. Often, it ruins the predecessors for us and I don’t like that feeling of not liking something I used to love anymore. Like for instance, I’m apprehending Lady Midnight and The Cursed Child a bit, though I know the latter isn’t exactly a spin-off but it kind of is, still.

Jess Rothenberg - The Catastrophic History of You and Me

I went into this one expecting some overly cheesy romance but it was anything but that. The Catastrophic History of You and Me ended up being a favorite because of the punch of feels it held and its original concept. You should all read it, it seriously is underhyped.

Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows - My Lady Jane.jpg

This rarely happens because hype often has the opposite effect on me as I said before but My Lady Jane is one I’m REALLY excited about. Though I don’t know if it really is OVERhyped, is it? Either way, my grabby hands want it now.

I saw these on Kat @ Life and Other Disasters’ tag and i completely fell in love with them. They’re so gorgeous !! And they’re Harry potter ! THEY GLOW IN THE DARK GUYS ! How could anyone not want them?

Stephanie Garber - Caraval.jpg

I must say that I’m highly anticipating Caraval too. It sounds SO intriguing and interesting that I just want to get my hands on it.The premise is so unique and I just hope it lives up to the hype that it has been generating recently. Okay, can we also talk about that cover for a second? IT IS SO PPERFECT and suits the book’s vibe well. I’m forever jealous of the people who got the Arcs, they’re beaaaautiful.

bBoth Victoria Schwab and Jandy Nelson are automatic buys for me. I just can’t get enough of their gorgeous writings, each one in her own genre which happen to be my two favorite genres. Though I’m all caught up with Jandy Nelson’s books (she only has 2 so it’s pretty is hihi) I still have a mountain of V.E. Schwab’s books to read.

N/A. I don’t have an answer for this one either. I just started keeping up with release date recently and all the books I’m anticipating have pretty close ones.

I tag whoever loves Pokémon and wants to take part in this craziness.

That’s it until next time.

If you did the tag, go ahead and leave the link in the comments so that I can check it out.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Award #8: Most Relatable Award Ever

Hello Guys !

Today’s award is a MAJOR throwback because it was the first ever award I’ve done on my blog, on my first week here or something and now it’s been more than 4 months, how can that be? Anywho, it is the Book Fangirling Award round 2 for which I’ve been nominated by two lovely bloggers who are Carrianne @ Carrianne’s Cuppa’n Critiques and Lila @ The Bookkeeper’s Secret, thank you so so much !

The rules :

  • Create a post to accept your award.
  • Answer the questions at the end.
  • Nominate 5 – 10 bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

Carrianne’s questions :

1. If you could steal a character’s clothes, whose would you steal?

Why do you do this to me? THIS IS SO HARD. Oh, oh… I know ! In a hypothetical world, it would be Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments. I don’t think I need to explain it any further, I love how she’s always stylish and she owns what she wears.

2. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Seriously? Seriously Carrianne? *sobs* Why do you hate us so much? This question is just cruel, so I’ll choose a series AND a book. Harry Potter (DUH!) and I’ll Give you the Sun, predictable I know hehe.

3. What trope would you like to see more in books?

Mmm… Best Friends to Lovers, for sure. It may not seem like it but I am a sucker for all things swoony in books and to me, there is nothing that can do it more than getting out of the friendzone haha. If you have any recommandations for books like that, GIMME!

4. Favorite bookish loot? If you don’t have any, then favorite book cover?

I don’t have either haha, I love so many book covers, I’m undecisive like that. But a series that I really love the covers for is the Firebird series. I haven’t read it yet but I think I’ll get to it very soon.

5. Which scene would you like to be apart of and in what book?

It would either be a fight scene, like the one in the rooftop of the castle from Cress or a very emotional one, like Luke and Jocelyn’s wedding in City of Heavenly Fire. Oh God ! Just thinking of it, all my feelings are coming back!

Lila’s questions :

1. If you could dye your hair any color, which color would you choose?

Dark Red. I’m dying to do it but I don’t know if I’ll pull it off so I’m staying away haha. I have highlights in that color but I want to make it more of an ombre effect.

2. What’s your favorite season and why?

Fall hands down. It is not too hot, but it is still warm enough and I loved playing with my clothes and cozying up and reading. I just love it.

3. Who are three of your favorite characters, what Hogwarts house do you think they would be in, and why?

Simon LewisThe Mortal Instruments : He would be a Ravenclaw (My house, YOUHOO !) because I said so. No, but seriously haha, it just fits because he’s intelligent and witty.

YaelWolf by Wolf : She would fit in Gryffindor. She’s the bravest, most badass character I’ve read about, though she can be reckless sometimes, but all for a good cause.

Mark Watney The Martian : That guy would be a Slytherin, do you see it too? He’s driven and very resourceful. I don’t know what more to say, if you read the book, you can hopefully see it. (Or am I imagining it ?)

4. What’s a song that makes you just wanna dance?

One Dance and Hasta El Amanecer MashupAlex Aiono

5. What’s one of your quirkiest traits?

Uum… oh, I cannot for the life of me live in a messy room. I had a friend over last week and she was shocked at how tidy my room is haha.

My questions :

  1. If you could live in any fictional world, which one would it be ?
  2. What’s a book character that everyone loves that you hate ?
  3. Who’s your favorite superhero ?
  4. What book truly left a mark on you ?
  5. Which author’s writing you can’t seem to get into ?

My Nominees :

Fatima @ Noteable Pad

Ara @ The Bookish Agenda

Kevin @ Bookevin

Ali @ The Bandar (B)log

Kamilah @ The Bookish Mirage

Top 5 Wednesday #14 : Myself in Characters !

Hello guys !T5W

So today is Wednesday, this means that it is time for me to do another T5W.  It is a weekly feature created By Lainey @ Gingerreadslainey with a different theme each week. It is hosted now by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes. For more information, you can check the Goodreads group.

This week’s theme is: CHARACTERS YOU’RE MOST LIKE.

I really like this week’s theme, because one of my favorite things to do while reading is find ways in which I’m similar to the characters so this list was really fun to come up with.

87f3ecb699c9f7ee40a4b81a69a544a1|| Fanart by Nita H. ||

Though I didn’t like this series much (I DNF book 2) and found Kat mostly infuriating, she was a bookblogger and obsessed with books so I cannot deny that big similarity there. I’m passionate about eveything book related and this blog is my baby and my pride.

a7870c82c1825d6e9a6d71f1a6d3894b|| Fanart by Taratjah ||

This guy is hilarious and full of himself. JUST LIKE ME. He’s not egocentric in that obnoxious way, doesn’t take himself too seriously, cracks up jokes that he’s the only person to laugh at. He is caring and has feelings but doesn’t know how to deal with them. I’m like that, I’m always wondering: “WHAT ARE THOSE ?”

I’m a badass. Okay, no. Though I  AM a bad ass (see the similarity with Thorne now?) that’s not the reason for Izzy being on this list, it’s more because of her fear of letting go and falling in love with someone. Yep, me! And not because I’m one of those people who think “Boys are all the same” and blablabla, that’s bullshit. I have trust issues. BIG TIME. And I flee before things even get close to serious.

I have that crude, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor and I completely love it. I cannot not be sarcastic, it is just impossible. That would be taking out a big chunk of who I am and leaving just the boring stuff like loyalty and ambition. Who wants THAT ? Not me, just leave me be in my little cocoon of Watney-ness (I’m making it a word, yep) living happily ever after.

Because Astra said so. And also because I don’t give two fucks of what people think of me. I am unapologetically happy with who I am and I cannot please everyone so I do my thing and if you like it welcome to my mumbo jumbo of quirkiness and magical worlds, if you don’t just go on with your life like our paths never crossed, okay? Okay. I own my craziness and I’ll never leave it behind just because someone isn’t comfortable with it.

That’s it until next time.

Do you see yourself in any of these characters? What other characters do you relate to?

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

TAG #10 : The F.R.I.E.N.D.S Book Tag

Hello guys !

I can’t tell you how behind on tags I am, it is crazy. I am so bad at this. Okay, to be honest, I have a reason for delaying them which is that I don’t want to be repetitive. My 2015 reading year has been very shitty, I didn’t read many books and I don’t want to keep bringing up each time the same books I read this past 4 months -and the few I read last year- so I’m waiting to read more and doing tags little by little, but I promise if you tagged me I’ll do it eventually, I just want to do it right, I’m sorry !

For today, it is the F.R.I.E.N.D.S Book Tag for which I haven’t been technically tagged but that I saw on  the awesome Kat‘s @ Life and Other Disastersages ago  in February. You should most definitely check out her blog because her content is pretty varied and amazing and just do it, you won’t regret it. So I’m not an avid watcher of Friends, yeah no, don’t throw rocks at me, I adored the few episods I caught on TV, that show is hilarious, it’s just that I’ve never found time to binge watch the whole thing (Though I might do it in the summer).

Sans titressf.png

Pearl from Cinder. Just No. Yayks. Every time she showed up, I swear I really wished she would go away. She gave me murderous thoughts. She’s Cinder’s stepsister and just plain AWFUL. I was so happy she wasn’t mentioned in Scarlet.

N/A. None stuck with me, because it is either I hate the break-up and despise the author for it or I just don’t care for it and forget about it soon after haha.

Jodi Ellen Malpas - (#1) This Man

-Insert any NA or Adult book I’ve ever read- For this one, I’ll go with the one all about kissing (and more hah). It is This Man. If you want on-going, never-ending tension and steam, read that trilogy.

The most predictable answer in the WHOLE GALAXY. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. If you don’t know what perfection is, that ending is. It just wrapped up everything so neatly. Gaaah!!

That one scene from The Storyteller. I’m scarred. It is so dark and creepy and just something I would want to have amnesia because of. I can’t tell you what it is, because spoilers.

Rainbow Rowell - Eleanor & Park

Eleanor & Park. Sorry? ish? It was okay! It just wasn’t this breath-taking love story to me. I couldn’t connect with anything, or did I maybe read it at the wrong time? I don’t know. Anyhow, I’ll give it another try sometime this year.

None huh? My books, my rules. And I say: Thee shall not lend books EVER. I’ve done it in the past and they were back in not so good of a condition so yeah, never again.

Ryan Graudin - (#1) Wolf by Wolf

Wolf by Wolf. I know you saw that one coming, right, right? I’m not ready to stop talking about that book. Not now. Not ever. Deal with it.

Stephenie Meyer - Twilight.jpg

Here’s one I never talked about. Twilight. With all it’s ridiculously shining vampires, love triangle and imprinting. God no! I read the first one, that’s about it.

MALEC. Yes, yes, YES! Best couple IN THE UNIVERSE. Nothing tops them. Freaking cute. Freaking hilarious. Freaking everything I love in fictional couples.

I tag :

Lila @ The Bookkeeper’s Secret

Lauren @ Wonderless Reviews

Vivian @ Inked in Pages

Carrianne @ Cuppa ‘n Critiques

And whoever wants to join in.

Ps: If you’ve already done it or you just don’t feel like it, I’m sorry just ignore my tag hah.

That’s it until next time.

If you did the tag, go ahead and leave the link in the comments so that I can check it out.

TAG #9 : Harry Potter Tag

Hello guys !

I’m posting another tag, yep. Sorry not sorry. I swear I had another post scheduled for today because like an organized person (that I am NOT) I planned this whole week but then I was on Lashaan & Trang’s  blog and I saw THIS tag. The Harry Potter tag, or how-to-make-me-squeal Tag. So, I dropped everything I was doing and decided that this would be my first priority.

Lashaan & Trang are the cutest bookish couple and they are so sweet, so you should definitely check out their blog Bookidote and follow them. Plus they created this tag so they HAVE to be awesome, right? AND they created all the images and they are to die for. Before getting into it, they said that the only rule is that you absolutely cannot use any of the Harry Potter books, so let’s see what I come up with :

Ps : As always, the covers are direct links to the Goodreads pages

A Book you found interesting that you would re-write.

I’ll go with Divergent for this one. I really enjoyed the first book, but it just went down hill from there, Insurgent was okay but I disliked Allegiant with every fiber of my body. Nugh said.

Veronica Roth - (#1) Divergent  Veronica Roth - (#2) Insurgent  Veronica Roth - (#3) Allegiant

The first book in a series that got you hooked.

That would be City of Bones from The mortal instruments series. The writing wasn’t mind blowing but I loved the plot and where it was headed so I just flew through the rest of the series afterwards and it got WAY better.

Cassie Clare - (#1) City of Bones

A Book you wish you could have right now.

SO MANY. ALL OF THEM. But the one that I really really want is The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh. I grew up with One thousand and one night stories and I absolutely loved them so a retelling ? Hell yes !

A killer book. Both senses. Take it as you like.

Looking for Alaska. I died from Boredom and came back to life. Multiple times actually. It just did nothing for me. Nothing happened. Hated the characters. Hated everything, okay? I’m sorry if you loved it and this offends you but that book is nooot for me.

John Green - Looking for ALaska

A book that you found really confusing.

Neverwhere by Neil Geiman. That book is something messy and crazy and dark and weird and just UGH! Even my feelings toward it are messy and confusing. So much happened and the world and the characters. IT IS CRAZY.

Neil Gaiman - Neverwhere.jpg

Your spirit animal book.

I don’t know why, I don’t know how but The Catastrophic History of You and Me just has a hold on my heart, I don’t even know why it is my spirit animal book but it is. I didn’t even expect to like it as much as I did, but it just exceeded my expectations by a million miles (Review if you’re curious).

Jess Rothenberg - The Catastrophic History of You and Me

A dark twisted book.

The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre. MAN! That book gave me the chills, my heart was pounding the whole time and it was just gore and disturbing and I found myself caring for a killer. Dark times, my friends. Dark times. I most definitely recommend it though (If you’re over 18 obviously !). Here‘s my detailed insight.

The girl in 6E

A book that surprised you in a great way, reveals to be more.

The martian. By the look of the blurb I thought it would be hella boring because meh? A man. Alone. On mars? With whom would he interact? What could possibly be exciting about that? But it was sooo hyped that I wanted to know what that was about. And boy was I wrong! I think that’s the book that made me laugh the most in my entire life. His sarcasm is right up my alley. I’ll stop rambling here and you can take it to the review if you want.

aqwdghjklMarie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books – Kat @ Life and other Disasters – Ashleigh @ A Frolic Through Fiction – Liam @ Hey Ashers !

And ANYONE who wants to do it.

That’s it until next time.

If you did the tag, make sure to leave the link in the comments so that I can check it out.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Top 5 Wednesday #8 : Worst of the Best !

Hello guys !T5W

So today is Wednesday, this means that it is time for me to do another T5W.  It is a weekly feature created By Lainey @ Gingerreadslainey with a different theme each week. For more information, you can check the Goodreads group.

P.s: The covers are direct links to the GoodReads pages.

So, I’m kind of annoyed ! I tried to do this post a butt-load of times and WordPress kept acting up (Thanks for that buddy !), telling me that the image format wasn’t supported, what the fuck ? It is the same format I use on all of my pictures dumbass! Whatever. It just drove me crazy before FINALLY wanting to work. My rant ends here haha. Let’s get on with the list :

To be perfectly honest, I almost stopped reading the series with this one, I liked the premise but some parts of it were really predictable and it started pissing me off. Luckily it was summertime and I read one book a day or more so I decided to give book 2 a shot and I LOVED IT !

Ann Aguirre - Outpost

This series is PHENOMENAL. Or at least that’s how I remember it, because I read it more than 3 years ago. If I recall correctly, the main character was a bit winy in this one and that took a little bit off my enjoyment. Regardless, I really really loved it.

I am a little shocked that not many people I know talk about it because it is SO good, which reminds me: I need to re-read it. Plus, I saw on GoodReads that there was some kind of spin-off scheduled for Spring 2017 (Vanguard) so all the more reasons to dive back in.

Cassie Clare - (#4) City of Fallen Angels

I hopped on the Shadowhunter train a little late, as I read this series in the beginning of this year, and enjoyed every last bit of it, including this book. The reason it is my least favorite is because it is a little slower than the rest and drags a little but on the other hand it focused on Simon. SIMON. And I adore him.

Jodi Ellen Malpas - (#1) This Man

My Oh My ! This series is the steamiest thing I’ve ever read in my life. The first book was the one I liked the least because it was too focused on the physical attractionwhich believe me when I say, it is HOT – rather than developing the bond. At some point, I needed more than it offered. It is okay though, the other two books made up for it.

Shocker ! Harry Potter made the list haha. Okay, it is no surprise either that it is at Number 1. I read this AGES ago, like a decade or something and I still get excited anytime there is something HP related. Since it was so long ago, I can’t remember why it is my least favorite one. All I know is that it was. Which means I need to re-read it ASAP. I scheduled it for a marathon  in the beginning of the summer, anyone to come along for the ride ?

By the way, I’m fangirling sooooo hard about the new covers right now. They are to die for.

That’s it until next time.

What is your least favorite book in your favorite series ?

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

Little peek #2 : February 2016

Hello guys !

February has gone by really fast and it is already time for another little peek aka this month’s wrap up. This month was impressively good, I loved all seven of the books I read and I’m super happy about it. As per usual, the titles are direct links to the Goodreads pages.

Here are the books, in the order I read them :

A. R. Torre - The girl in 6EOh my god ! What a thriller !

This book was a bit out of my comfort zone and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It made me feel all kind of emotions that I didn’t think I could feel reading an erotic thriller with a protagonist who has urges to kill.

The ending had me curious to read the rest of the series because it was too good to be true.

You can find my review here

4.5 stars

“Others letting you down is ice cream and cookies compared with the rejection of your own soul. I don’t know what is sadder, expecting myself to fail or being too scared to dream of success.”

Cassie Clare - (#4) City of Fallen Angels.jpgThis books was the slowest of the series. Not that minded, I loved it still.

I really appreciated having so much of Simon, seeing everything through his eyes, having him figure out the whole vampire thing.

But then, came the end of the book and Cassandra Clare left it on a HUMONGOUS cliffhanger and the worst thing is, I had to read another book before getting to City of Lost Souls. Agh! I was so frustrated.

4 stars

“But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before.”

Jess Rothenberg - The Catastrophic History of You and MeI loved this book so much ! It was amazing.

It deals with the grief of death, not only the one that the family and friends of the deceased go through, but in this novel, it is about Brie’s (The dead girl) grief and all the stages that she went through to find peace in her little slice of heaven and maybe love to.

This book did something inside of me, it left a mark in ways I wasn’t expecting.

You can find my review here

5 stars

“You can obsess and obsess over how things ended—what you did wrong or could have done differently—but there’s not much of a point. It’s not like it’ll change anything. So really, why worry?”

Cassie Clare - (#5) City of Lost Souls.jpgCan I make a confession real quick ? I LOVE Sebastian ! He is so smart and vicious ! First villain I ever loved. On the other hand he cannot help who he is and that makes him all the more precious in my eyes.

Okay so, most of this book was more strategy and plotting the destruction if the world than action and fight and battle but it still was excting. That being said, the end made my head spin from all the swords, the bows and good guys and bad guys. AND GLORIOUS.

4.5 stars

“Iz,” Alec said tiredly. “It’s not like it’s one big bad thing. It’s a lot of little invisible things. When Magnus and I were traveling, and I’d call from the road, Dad never asked how he was. When I get up to talk in Clave meetings, no one listens, and I don’t know if that’s because I’m young or if it’s because of something else. I saw Mom talking to a friend about her grandchildren and the second I walked into the room they shut up. Irina Cartwright told me it was a pity no one would ever inherit my blue eyes now.” He shrugged and looked toward Magnus, who took a hand off the wheel for a moment to place it on Alec’s. “It’s not like a stab wound you can protect me from. It’s a million little paper cuts every day.”

Rainbow Rowell - Fangirl 2.jpgZFDJSLGNV  SLJDKJGLSV DFKJSLQ *-* ! This book made me fangirl so hard ! It was beyond cute, and  I loved how relatable and real it was.

And LEVI ! I doubtlessly fell in love with him, that guy is the dream, he’s the most realistic book character I’ve ever read (All of them actually) .

I can go on and on and on all the day, but that’s what a review is for. You can find it right here.

4.5 stars

“Happily ever after, or even just together ever after, is not cheesy,” Wren said. “It’s the noblest, like, the most courageous thing two people can shoot for.”

Cassie Clare - (#6) City of Heavenly Fire.jpgOH MY GOD ! This book took me so long to finish but it was beyond amazing ! I loved every single bit of it.

THE EPILOGUE THOUGH !!! That thing was perfection, everything wrapped up, no loose ends and it made me appreciate the character development throughout the series of every single one of them. It also mended the pieces of my broken heart which was caused by the last chapters, those were dark times people, VERY dark times indeed !

The thing that stood out to me the most, is how Cassandra Clare’s writing improved with each book, this last one was quite frankly a masterpiece, I just have so many feels !

5 stars

“I did not make a pie,” Alec repeated, gesturing expressively with one hand, “for three reasons. One, because I do not have any pie ingredients. Two, because I don’t actually know how to make a pie.”
He paused, clearly waiting.
Removing his sword and leaning it against the cave wall, Jace said warily, “And three?”
“Because I am not your bitch,” Alec said, clearly pleased with himself.”

Benjamin Alire Sàenz - Aristole and Dante discover the Secret of the UniverseThis is the first LGBTQ+ novel I’ve ever read and I really enjoyed it. Not really what I expected but it was still an interesting read.

I loved the sides that Ari and Dante brought in each other that no one else could and how good and right they were for each other.

Even though I had some issues with it, I really liked it. You can see my review here.

3.5 stars

“I wondered what that was like, to hold someone’s hand. I bet you could sometimes find all of the mysteries of the universe in someone’s hand.”

That’s it until next time.

What books did you read in February?

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.

3 days 3 quotes challenge: Day I

Hello guys !

I’ve seen this challenge going around quite a bit the past few days and my quote obsession started taking over hoping someone would tag me (No shame friends, no shame). And I was, by the lovely Paige @ Thewildreaders

3 Days 3 Quotes

Okay, since I pretty much sucked this week at posting anything Valentine’s day related, I decided to put my little spin on this challenge and make all 3 quotes Love quotes.

The rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post a quote for three consecutive days.
  • Nominate three new bloggers each day.
So if you didn’t already guess by the picture, the quote I am choosing for today is from The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, and more precisely City of Glass, which is the third installment in the series and my favorite one (I still haven’t finished the fifth but still !).
It is something Jace told Clary, and I don’t know why it stuck with me, but it did.
Here it is:
“There is no pretending,” Jace said with absolute clarity. “I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I’ll love you then.”
P.s : I found the fanart on Pinterest and it is absolutely STUNNING .It’s almost like if it is alive.
I Tag :
Magdalena @ Maginibooks

That’s it until next time.

If you’re not tagged and want to do it, go ahead and leave the link is the comments so that I can check it out.

Hope you enjoyed, write to you soon.
